On the evening of May 14, 2013, at 6:00pm, a Fashion Funraiser will be held at Shepherd's store in the Trainyards. This is a new undertaking for the Guild, offering an enjoyable opporutunity to raise some money for Opera Lyra and to shop at Shepherd's at a time when the store is closed to other customers.

Discover Opera: La Traviata Cocktail Event
On March 15, 6-9pm, the Opera Lyra Guild hosted, a “Discover Opera: La Traviata Cocktail Event” to promote Opera Lyra among the younger demographic in the capital region. The Director General of Opera Lyra drew two pairs of tickets for the March 21 production of La Traviata (opera in concert) at the NAC, and guests were offered a special discount on La Traviata tickets. Many thanks to our sponsors from the ByWard Market: Italian grocer Bottega Nicastro and new Chocolaterie Cococo/Bernard Callebaut.

Join us for a short talk about the history of the opera and its composer. Learn little-known facts about the show you are about to see!
Pre-Opera Chats are free and presented at 7:00 pm before each mainstage Opera Lyra performance at the National Arts Centre.
Joy of Opera Luncheon & Concert
This year's annual Joy of Opera Luncheon and Concert will feature young artists from the University of Ottawa.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2013. at the RA Centre at 12:00pm.
