Traveling Through Exotic Worlds: A Cocktail and Concert Fundraiser at the French Embassy
Opera Lyra Ottawa proudly announced an exciting collaboration with the Embassy of France.
On October 5, Opera Lyra Ottawa presented an exclusive concert engagement for 80 guests. Hosted by acclaimed French Canadian Stage Director François Racine, and accompanied on piano by OLO Principal Repetiteur Judith Ginsburg, the concert featured the excellent singers of Opera Lyra Ottawa's Opera Studio.
François Racine assisted Robert Lepage on his productions of Erwartung and Bluebeard's Castle at several leading opera companies including the Canadian Opera Company, Seattle Opera, Cincinnati Opera and Opéra de Montréal. Last July, Seattle Opera named him 'Artist of the Year, season 2008-09'. The eclectic program, created by M. Racine, will travel through exotic worlds highlighting French favorites such as Carmen, Lakmé and Les pêcheurs de perles.
Tickets for this event were limited and are available only at Opera Lyra Ottawa.
