The Guild is dedicated to promoting interest in and support for Opera Lyra Ottawa in the National Capital Region. Its purpose is to support Opera Lyra in any way necessary and to cultivate an appreciation of opera. The Guild provides direct services to the Company such as sponsoring Pre-performance Opera Chats before each mainstage performance, operating a Sales Table, assisting at Company events/fundraisers and representing the Company through distribution of promotional materials for Opera Lyra Ottawa.
The Guild also operates educational and social programs for its members and others in the community such as lectures and social activitites designed to promote knowledge and a love of opera. There are approximately 85 members of the Opera Lyra Guild.

Volunteer Speakers Welcome
The Opera Lyra Ottawa Guild needs opera "devotees" to join them as volunteer speakers.
Volunteer speakers would prepare and present Pre-Opera Chats, or speak at public events as needed. Volunteers must be comfortable speaking in public and have a love of opera. Although a musical background is not necessary, this is certainly an asset. For information, please contact Mary Frances Taylor at 613-730-8450.
