Opera Lyra Ottawa is committed to promoting opera as an art form and making it accessible to as large a segment of the population as possible through community outreach and education. Through the efforts of our Opera for Young People programs (The Young People's Opera Matinee and Young People's Evening at the Opera) as well as our Opera for Families programming we hope to foster an appreciation for the art form and a lasting memory of this arts experience.
Opera Lyra is also committed to encouraging, nurturing and supporting Canadian artists. The OLO Opera Studio plays an important role in helping prepare young artists for professional operatic careers by offering high-quality training and performance opportunities that provide practical experience in the various aspects of the operatic art form.
